Haguruka is implementing a project entitled “JUSTICE et MEMOIRE “. This project will be implemented over the course of five years (2017-2021) and is funded by the Belgian Directorate General for Development (DGD).
The project aims to help communities affected by specific cases related to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi to understand and participate in Genocide trials abroad.
The objective of this workshop was to equip the members of Human Rights Civil Society Organizations to inform the people of the former Commune Kabarondo about the progress of the lawsuit against Octavien Ngenzi and Tito Barahira, whose appeal hearings are expected on 2nd May to 6th July 2018.
Haguruka’s National Executive Secretary gave the opening remarks for this workshop. The speakers included Mr Hugo Jombwe, Chief of Mission (RCN J&D), and Mr Juvens Ntapuhwe, the coordinator of this specific project.
Informing the community will take place concurrently with the trials mentioned above.
