Commission on the Status of Women β 70th Session
Priority Theme: βEnsuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices, and addressing structural barriers.β
HAGURUKA, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF), convened a side event at CSW70, co-hosted with FIDA Uganda and FEMNET.
The event provided a practice-driven and solutions-oriented platform showcasing how feminist legal advocacy and strengthened collaboration between state institutions and civil society advanced women's and girls' access to justice in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and across the African region.
Geneva Peace Talks 2024
HAGURUKA brought a powerful voice for peace to the Geneva Peace Talks 2024. Representing the organization as legal aid practitioners and gender activists, the delegation highlighted the critical role of promoting and defending the rights of women and children as a foundation for building sustainable and lasting peace.
