HAGURUKA Magazine
In this special edition, we celebrate the women who work with HAGURUKA and explore our innovative approaches to empowering women and children in Rwanda. We highlight dedicated individuals such as paralegal Mukarukwaya Christine, whose more than 23 years of experience demonstrate the impact of passion and commitment in addressing legal challenges. We address the pressing issues of gender-based violence and barriers to justice, showcasing Haguruka’s innovative solutions, including enhanced forensic science and mobile legal aid clinics.

In this issue, we feature Queen Kalimpinya former Miss Rwanda turned rally driver whose project Bambe addresses maternal mortality and teenage pregnancy. We explore HAGURUKA’s programmes MFHS and Ingo z’Amahoro, which provide safe environments for dialogue and healing, fostering a more equitable society. We also examine Law no. 71/2024 governing persons and family, particularly its recognition of unpaid care work.
