The BB Energy Foundation project focuses on strengthening family and community responses to gender-based violence (GBV) and teenage pregnancy. Implemented in the Gasabo and Musanze districts, the project uses intergenerational dialogue sessions to bring together parents and teenage mothers to openly discuss GBV, parenting, legal rights, and care.

The project aims to shift harmful social norms, rebuild trust within families, and create safer environments for women, girls, and young mothers. Key activities include facilitated dialogues between teenage mothers and their parents, legal aid services, and support for the legal recognition of children born to teenage mothers.

Notable achievements include reaching 120 parents and teenage mothers through structured dialogue sessions. As a result, 87% of participants reported stronger support for girls’ rights, 97% felt more confident in protecting teenage mothers and their children, and 96% demonstrated improved communication and positive parenting practices. The project also supported 11 children to gain legal recognition, strengthening their protection and identity, and provided legal aid services to 382 people seeking justice.
